Workshop #2 Healing Salves

Service Description

In this workshop, we will learn to create healing salves made with dandelion and violet infused oils. We will melt plant-based butters and waxes with the infused oils to create a solid salve. We will talk about the properties and benefits of each of the ingredients and why they come together in harmony for this special nourishing product. You will walk away with the knowledge of how to create your own salves and hopefully an appreciation for all that Mother Nature has to offer us and how simple it is to work with her to create our own glorious, magical products. TELL ME MORE ABOUT THESE SALVES While infused oils are oh so lovely in their own right, a salve is another way to work with nature to heal ourselves. Salves are hardened into a tin, but still soft enough for us to scoop out what we need. They are easy for our skin to absorb to get that healing happening on contact. The infused oils are the star ingredient, but we add plant-based butters and waxes to bind it all together. HOW DOES THE WORKSHOP WORK? You will receive a box of all you need in advance of the workshop (details below). We will meet live on Zoom in our kitchens to melt the ingredients together and pour them out into the supplied metal tins. No worries if you can't make it during the scheduled time, everyone that registers will receive a recording. And also a link to materials with details about these generous plant friends and step-by-step instructions to review or print for future reference. WHAT WILL I RECEIVE IN THIS BOX? - a 4 ounce glass mason jar filled with pre-measured mango butter - a 4 ounce glass mason jar filled with pre-measured candelilla wax - pre-measured cocoa butter wafers - three tins - three labels And if you didn’t attend Workshop #1 you will also receive - a 4 ounce glass bottle of dandelion infused grapeseed oil - a 4 ounce glass bottle of violet blossom and leaf infused avocado oil WHAT WILL I NEED FROM MY OWN HOME? a stove top a double boiler OR a heat proof jar that you can place in a pot of shallow simmering water a towel and/or potholder
