St Johns Wort - this little power packed beauty starts to shine its brilliant yellow flowers at the summer solstice and that energy of the sun is bottled up and available to us all year long. This plant is best know for supporting and uplifting mood. It is protective, helps ease pain and represses viruses. It also reduces menopausal symptoms including hot flashes, calms the nerves and helps energy move through your body by breaking up stagnation.
Energetically, SJW gives the heart courage and protects against heartbreak. Such a protector this one!
Do NOT combine with anti-depressants of other pharmaceuticals. Do NOT use when pregnant. As with all herbs, research and seek guidance before use.
All tinctures made with freshly gathered plants - which were either grown from seed or ethically wildcrafted in the Catskills. Using fresh plants results in a well-balanced, higher potency tincture than using dry herbs. The plants were infused into alcohol (vodka or brandy) for at least 2 moon cycles (at least 8 weeks). The plants were then strained from the alcohol and the alcohol retained both the water-soluble and alcohol-soluble properties of the plants.
Most of the offerings are ‘simples’ which is a tincture of a single plant. I find this way you can really build a relationship with the plant and know how it is working with your system. Blends are amazing too, the only downside is you will not be able to know which plants are helping you in which specific way - if that matters to you...
Please reach out if you have any questions or are interested in a custom blend. Many plants have the same 'list' of benefits - but they each have their own energy that can be matched more specifically to the energy of the human that is working with it for an optimal experience. And don't be afraid to choose a plant that calls to you - it's the best way to start to developing your special 1 on 1 relationship.
HOW DO I USE IT?
Tinctures can be used for immediate action, but typically working with a plant over a period of time will result in greater benefit. You can put the tincture directly in your mouth or it might be more pleasant to add to a tea or other beverage given the sometimes strong alcohol taste.
Start small with a half dropperful or so. Up to 30 drops can be taken 1-3 x per day.
